History

NZP+ is a Non-Profit / Non-Government organization which is affiliated to the National organization which is registered under section 7(1) of the Zambian societies act between 2003 and 2007.

NZP+ was established on 3rd March, 2003 to help improve the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV ) by actively pursuing three issues affecting them: Representation, Support, and Communication.

There was a lack of psychological and social support for PLHIV. Specifically there was a lack of community and family support in times of illness and there was and still is a stigma against PLHIV within the communities.

NZP+ Kalomo has organized and transformed itself into the district PLHIV representative.

The organization is a key in community development projects in the district of Kalomo.

NZP+ Kalomo has so far achieved many projects where it received support from national and international governments and organizations or NGOs such as-

    Impact on the Community

    Importance and Urgency

Meeting our challenges is important and urgent because, if these needs are not met, the community members and direct beneficiaries such as OVCs, PLHIV Support group members, women groups and many others will lose confidence in the organization. Full implementation of projects will not be done due to lack of funds. Landlords to the rented offices will evict the officers from their premises and the organization will die a natural death losing the institution memory and staff might find employment somewhere else. There will be no meaningful representation of PLHIV members in decision making bodies in the district of Kalomo. Lack of website/social media platforms has disadvantaged the organization to find who would be sponsors for the project implementation
